How To Post on the Message Board

Option 1
You can post here on the Inman Square Message Board by simply sending an email to inmansquare@googlegroups.com.
That's all! The Subject line of your email becomes the title of the post; the text that is in the body of your email shows up in the body of the post. Simple enough? You can even attach photos or documents, just as you would in any email.

Option 2 - Becoming a Member with Gmail
If you have a Gmail account, you can join by simply hitting Sign In at the top right of the Google window. You may be asked for a Nickname for use on this board. You can then post by hitting + New post on the Discussions page.

Option 3 - Becoming a Member with a non-Gmail email address
You can join the Message Board without Gmail by setting up a Google Account. To set up a Google Account, hit Sign In at the top right of the Google Groups window. In the window that comes up, hit Create a new account. You fill in your email address, a password for your Google Account, and, sometimes, a nickname. You will be sent a confirmation email within a minute or two. Open that email and click on the appropriate link. Thereafter, to sign in on this board, click Sign In, enter your email address and the password you used to set up the account. Then, to post, just click + new post.

How To Respond To A Post

If you are a Member, you can click Reply to post a reply or Reply to author to send an email to the poster.

If you are not a Member, open any particular post, see the poster's disguised email address at the top, and, just to the right, click view profile. In the Profile window, click on the "..." in the middle of the disguised email address. That will take you to a window that prompts you to type a simple code; then you wil see the poster's email address. (This system is in place to foil spammers.)

Why become a Member?
 ·  A Member can reply directly to a post or to a poster.
 ·  A Member can receive posts directly to her/his email program's inbox. This feature can be turned on and off by signing in and clicking Edit my membership.
 ·  A Member can create a Profile to let others know more about her/himself. To do so after signing in, click Profile, and in the page that comes up, click edit to the right of My Profile. You can include a photo, a link, an email address, a greeting, etc.
 ·  Also, a Member can stash files in the Files section.
